Peyton Gully, now a 17 year old junior at Pope High School, was diagnosed on January 7th, 2017 with Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukemia. This is a rare form of leukemia where multiple types of treatments have to be tried to find one that works. After nearly 5 months in Children's Healthcare of Atlanta hospitals and a bone marrow transplant with her younger sister, Anna, as donor, Peyton returned home and was deemed cancer free. But nearly six weeks later, another biopsy showed that she had relapsed, and the cancer was back. Peyton again faced her toughest of battles but again defeated this leukemia for the 2nd time! Her strong faith as well as her amazing attitude, strength, bravery and determination has inspired her community through this battle, and her community has inspired her. Since this last bout, Peyton has been swimming and running cross country and plans to get back on the lacrosse field for the 'Hounds this Spring! Thanks to all for your love, support and prayers. Please keep them coming!
